TEMPLE ROAD YIN
This class is wonderful for increasing energy flow in the joints and connective tissue. The yin postures are passive and done mainly on the floor. You are encouraged to relax into the bones and allow the muscles to rest. The slow passive holds create an opportunity for release in the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, and spine. Each Yin posture is held for 3-5 minutes to stimulate the flow of energy. Open to all levels.
TEMPLE ROAD YOGA
This class provides an opportunity to experience the main energy centers and pathways of the body using asana, ball work, pranayama, and meditation. The vitality of the chakras are a key component to our overall health and wellbeing. These experiential practices encourage curiosity, awareness, and surrender to what is showing up in the moment. Open to all levels.
This slower paced class is for anyone who is interested in building strength, flexibility, balance, and agility. We work gently to increase range of motion in shoulders, back, hips and legs, to develop better balance, core strength and breath awareness. All levels welcome.
Madhya meaning “middle” describes the balance of this class, which begins with strengthening and energy clearing, followed by slow and relaxing yin postures. We play with the concept of letting go so we may have a greater sense of ground and focus in our yin practice.
YIN & MEDITATION
This special 75-minute class begins with slow passive holds designed to encourage deep release in the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, and spine. The muscles are able to relax, allowing for a gentle release in the joints and fascia. Each pose is held for 5 minutes to stimulate the flow of energy and quiet the body in preparation for meditation. The last 15 minutes is for those interested in beginning a regular meditation practice. As our body becomes more receptive through the practice of yoga and pranayama (breath-work), the mind naturally becomes quieter and stress is reduced. The practice of sitting without control or manipulation is the goal of this meditation class. In the absence of pushing objects away or grasping at a certain state of mind, we experience peace. Some lecture is likely. Open to all levels.
